If anybody is looking for HQ sbd sounding tapes, these are NOT those tapes. However,
most are rare & generally what circulates in aud's are generations from my masters or
from another taper's tapes at the time, like Barry Glassberg. I'm one of those people that
prefer SOME 'energetic' aud's over sbd's & these IMO are "energetic". I'm working on
getting the remainder of say 5/3/77 (and any other better copies out there from this run)
from Barry's masters, and other masters, in order to have the complete best 'aud' copies of
these shows.

The tapes that come from MY masters are:

Panasonic AM/FM Stereo 'boom box like' w/condenser mics) > CM (Cassette Masters) >
various equalizers & editors > CD or DAT

Subject: Great Show!
Wow. I've never heard Sugaree jam that much. It's so exciting. This is an incredible show. Oh, and I agree with the reviewer about how an audience tape can capture the energy of everyone. There are shows I saw in basketball arenas (like Rosemont or Oakland Coliseum) where the roaring of the music and the crowd made it feel like there was going to be an explosion. Some would say the acoustics were bad at those shows, but I loved it that way. In this case, distortion's a good thing.

Subject: get the other aud recording
The Jerry Moore recording of this show is far superior - unfortunately this one is unlistenable, at least for me, anyway.

Subject: Thank You Brother Bear
I'll take a great sounding audience recording over a sterile soundboard any day. While boards can be great for hearing the technical accuracy of songs, to me they lack the energy that makes a Dead show a Dead show. This recording captures that energy and does it very well. The show? It's May, it's 1977, it's Hartford.......what do you think?
